This illustration represents the work published here. Scientists have been able to re-create organs in a dish (organoids) starting from stem cells and reproduce the 3D environment of complex tissues. This is valuable in research as it allows to progress from cell culture methods to more complex systems needed to study complex tissues/organs like the brain.
