In this illustration you are looking at one cell but also at an entire organism. wHere, the autophagosome (coloured item in the middle) has been depicted as it forms in the cellular space (cytoplasm), very close to other organelles (Endoplasmic Reticulum, nucleus, vacuole, mitochoindrion).
