Autophagy in fat body cells
Here I represented an artistic interpretation of the autophagy process induced by low oxygen levels in fat body cells of the Drosophila larvae. This tissue exhibits a high amount of lipid droplets that are depicted here as pale areas. Red and orange “pearls” were used to represent different kinds of autophagic vesicles. The nuclei appear in blue as if they were DAPI-stained.
