Description:
Skull
Skull (upper half) of a giant South American rodent: the capybara. These lovely rats are very common in the northern provinces of my home country, Argentina. They live in small families and are particularly active at dusk, whilst during the day hours they hide from the heat by lying in mud holes or shallow waters. Like most living creatures, this rodent also triggers autophagy when it starves, which helps it to survive.
